I completed my undergrad in Nanotechnology Engineering at the University of Waterloo in 2013 and then remained for a MSc in Chemistry until 2015. That is when I joined at the Technical University of Eindhoven as a PhD candidate.
My project focuses on questions regarding the mechanical properties of cells and how the mechanical traits of the environment can affect cell behaviour. These are quite interesting questions in the field of Biophysics because there are many aspects of cell behaviour, e.g. in relation to certain diseases such as cancer, that can be influenced by mechanical changes. I try to study these things with a simple model based on the principles of Molecular Dynamics. I am also interested in High Performance Computing especially acceleration techniques using GPUs.
